Editorial policy and standards
WangWise is a pure-education resource on money and property in Malaysia. This page explains how our content is made, who is accountable for it, and how we keep it accurate. Money decisions matter, so we hold this content to a clear, published standard.
Who edits WangWise
WangWise is edited and maintained by Teh Kim Guan (ACMA, CGMA), Malaysia-based chartered management accountant (ACMA, CGMA) and embedded executive who has worked across finance, operations, and product roles with Malaysian companies. He reviews WangWise content for accuracy, clarity, and fidelity to official Malaysian sources. WangWise is an independent project maintained via tehkimguan.com.
How we create content
- Research from primary sources. Figures and rules are taken from official Malaysian bodies: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), LHDN, NAPIC/JPPH, PIDM, KWSP (EPF), AKPK, the Securities Commission, KPKT, SSM, and the Ministry of Finance.
- Plain-English explanation. We explain how things work and how to decide, in clear language, without jargon for its own sake.
- Structured for clarity. Most guides open with a direct answer, then give key takeaways, comparison tables where useful, and a frequently-asked-questions section.
How we source figures
- Every guide cites two to four named Malaysian authorities, with links to the official source.
- Every specific rate (OPR, stamp duty, RPGT, tax reliefs, EPF dividend, DSR norms) is tied to a source and a year. Malaysian figures change yearly, so we date them.
- Where a current figure cannot be confirmed against an official source, we say so rather than guess.
Review and accuracy
Articles pass an editorial review for factual accuracy, sourcing, plain-language voice, and structure before publication. We run a freshness review on rate-sensitive content so that figures such as stamp duty, RPGT, and tax reliefs are kept current as the rules change.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an out-of-date figure, email hello@tehkimguan.com. We correct confirmed errors promptly and update the article's revision date.
Independence
WangWise is education first. We do not sell financial products, run affiliate links, earn commissions, or take sponsorship in exchange for coverage. We do not rank "best" products for payment. Our only goal is to help Malaysians understand money and property decisions.
Not financial advice
Everything on WangWise is general educational content, not financial, tax, or legal advice for your specific situation. Always verify current figures with the official source and, where appropriate, speak to a licensed professional before acting.
